FAQ

Below we answer ten of the most frequently asked questions about Albany Mom to Mom.

1. What is Mom to Mom?

Are you a newly expectant mom or a seasoned mother? If so, then Mom to Mom is the place for you! We are a community of women from all stages and walks of life that meet together on a monthly basis to relax, have fun and build meaningful friendships. Mom to Mom exists for every mom and strives to provide a caring atmosphere where women can come to experience God’s love, share the triumphs and struggles of motherhood, and continue to learn to be the best moms they can be! Our meetings typically begin with children being dropped off in our wonderful childcare program. Following that, we enjoy a fantastic hot meal while we listen to informed and relevant speakers and spend time connecting with each other. Outside of our meetings, there are opportunities to connect with other moms.

2. When and where does Albany Mom to Mom meet?

Albany Mom to Mom meets the 3rd Tuesday from September to May except for November which happens to be the 2nd Tuesday of the month. The event begins promptly at 6 pm and ends promptly at 8 pm to be mindful of the volunteers caring for our kids in M2M Kids Club. The location is at Gillionville Baptist Church, 4614 Gillionville Road, Albany, Georgia. Our group is open and accepting registrations, but our space is limited.

3. Who will watch my children?

Albany Mom to Mom is fortunate enough to round up volunteers to assist with the M2M Kids Club. Every meeting at 5:45 pm you will have the opportunity to drop off your children, ages birth to K5, at the Child Center. At the end of our beautiful evening, you will proceed to pick up your children and take them home after the much-needed break. Don’t forget to thank our volunteers for giving us a small break. Although it is a rare occurrence, if your child is in too much distress, someone will call you to come to console him/her. When you drop off your child/ren, you will be asked to leave contact information for emergencies or if someone other than you will be picking up the child. There will be snack time, so if your child/ren are allergic to anything, please let us know. Bottom line, don’t worry, your babies will be fine, and you will be in the very next building not far away.

4. Do I have to be a member of that church?

No, you don’t have to be a member of Gillionville Baptist Church to attend our Albany Mom to Mom group. Our M2M group is proud to have a diverse membership from a variety of churches and religions. We welcome moms from all over!

5. Do I have to be a Christian?

Although Mom to Mom is a faith-based organization, we happily welcome moms from all walks of life! If you are mom looking to connect with a community of loving women or searching for a place to enjoy some good food, fellowship and grown-up conversation, Albany Mom to Mom would love to have you!

6. I don’t know anybody who goes to Mom to Mom, is anyone even going to talk to me?

Of course! Every year, many new moms come to our group looking to meet new friends and find community. Albany Mom to Mom makes it a point to be an open and inclusive group, and we love welcoming new faces!

7. Do these women dress in cute clothes every meeting?

No! Many of us come straight from work. As moms, we know that every day is different. One month, we may have had a great day where we look and feel fabulous. The next month we are lucky to even make it out the door with shoes on! Honestly, once you have made it to Mom to Mom, dropped off your kids, and are eating delicious food, you will no longer care what you or anyone else is wearing!

8. Will I get to eat a delicious and hot dinner?

We have a talented mom chef who is willing to cook for us one night a month, so we can all relax and enjoy a hot meal without worrying about the pending dirty pots and pans. Every month is a different treat; look for our monthly newsletters to find out what to expect on the menu for our next meeting! If you liked a specific dish let us know, that way we can bring it back subsequent years.

9. What is the one reason why I should NOT miss out this year?

Apart from an evening where you don’t have to cook, and your children cared for during the two-hour-long get-together, we will also be bringing you a fantastic message to open up your heart to the blessings and miracles we so often overlook. Our theme this year is to Fan the Flame. Each month you will learn and experience new ways to improve your outlook and struggles we all have as moms. We invite you to come and join us this fall and spring as we seek to build friendships, learn from one another, and experience the unfailing love of God.

10. What is the cost and how do I sign up?

We would love to have you join us! The first meeting is completely free and requires no commitment. Registration begins August 15th. The registration fee for the year is $60. This fee covers your annual Albany Mom to Mom membership, homecooked meals each month, speaker fees, gifts, door prizes, crafts, and childcare.
